The Topshop Unique F/W 16′ Runway show made its debut just yesterday. Just as we are ready to leave the cold weather behind us in anticipation for Spring’s colorful prints and shorter hemlines—we’ve fallen back in love all over again with fur-luxe coats, tailored trousers, and flowy Victorian-inspired dresses that graced the catwalk yesterday. Models Taylor Hill and Lineisy Montero were among some of the models who walked the runway in Topshop’s Sunday presentation.
Topshop’s creative director Kate Phelan declared backstage, that the collection was all about “unravelling the great unknown of British style.” Outerwear was a major highlight in yesterday’s show with fur lined bomber jackets, crisp white shirts outfitted under silk lined leather jackets. Leopard print was expected to be seen with leather miniskirts, as well as leopard print shirts and cashmere coats. Elements of athleisure wear was also seen sprinkled in between the 42 looks presented.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner might be the littlest sisters in the Kardashian-Jenner-West family, but that’s never stopped them from thinking big. Their latest brainchild, a collaborative fashion, appropriately named, Kendall + Kylie is set to debut on Revolve tomorrow. Rumor has it there will also be a full roster of stores that will carry the line, including Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, all prospected to launch by next month. This isn’t the sister’s first time trying their hands at designing, they exclusively have a line at beach themed shopping mall staple, PacSun and a capsule collection at TopShop. This new collection marks a definite sartorial maturation, featuring looks that a both minimal chic and sexy, one part Kendall and one part Kyle. Given that their brother-in-law has already left a sizable footprint on fashion and that the Jenners are also on first-name terms with some of the most influential designers (they’re besties with Rousteing and Lagerfeld) it would seem that getting designing guidance for their new label wasn’t too tricky.
Did the 80s ever leave us? We always say there’s this major comeback each season, but let’s face it—we’re never going to see it leave the runways nor our closets, EVER. What was a decade of a lot of no no’s is proving to us we’re wrong; and that decade was timeless in its own special way. It makes its annual appearance each season, always in different interpretations from their designers. Today we take inspo from the F/W runways to inspire you to shop these key pieces to incorporate into your winter wardrobe now. From mini sequin dresses, to structured heavily padded blouses, to patchwork denim —keep your eyes peeled next time you’re on the hunt to add some pizazz in your winter shopping.
Nothing says the ’80s quite like sequin. With its sparkly and colorful glory, it’s always a staple to see around this time —especially with holiday party season coming up. We are loving on the Glamorous sequin dress which has a very Balmain-esque design to it. We’d pair this with a tough motorcycle jacket and some black booties to steer away from a Romy and Michelle vibe, and more in the rocker chic direction.
Taken From the Dudes: Oxford Shoes Toughen Up
Acne Studio Spike Harness Oxfords $800
It’s officially Fall and it’s our favorite time for designer shoe shopping. Although I love all the fantastic heels that come out each season, my flats-loving self always scours this particular time of year for the best oxford shoes that the fashion universe has to offer. Here I round up some personal favorites for every budget to lust-worthy lists. This time around we see the oxford shoe get a tougher look with the addition of harnesses, lots of hardware, and contrasting two-tones. A lot of my favorites came from Toga Archives, which had hardware galore on most of this season’s designs, including an incredible pair of fitted thigh-highs to boot (pun intended).
