You may have seen this image of Bad Gal Riri circulating late last month. This photo was captioned, “Listening to Anti,” referring to her latest album release while pictured in her embellished Dolce & Gabanna gold crown headphones. Within less than 24 hours the $9,000 pair sold out. What’s with the $9,000 price tag? Well for starters it could be that they’re encrusted with Swarovski crystals and pearls, and bonus is that you can actually utilize them for your listening pleasure! What’s this about? Fashion that functions, holler.
Today in LA feels like a hot summer day. It feels like we’ve hardly had to wait for the weather to slowly warm up, in fact we’re feeling a little cheated out of our favorite cool-tempered season: Spring. Although the East Coast is still feeling the cold & snow a little bit longer, there’s no time to waste when planning up what to stock our closets with. When the weather warms up, that means we can ditch the bulky layers and opt for shorter hems and stock up on some of your favorite sandals. We’re rounding up some key buys you’ll want to nab now just so you’ll be street style ready in time for spring in March.
Valentine’s day is just around the corner, and for most of us that bare having a SO—a state of panic is ensuing whether that’s securing a table reservation at an overrated restaurant hotspot or finding something thoughtful to show we care. It’s a hard cruel world out there finding the balance of showing your feelings in a chic and tasteful way without any of the cheese. You can be sure to pass on the thoughtless drug store-bought box of chocolates, and opt for artisanal Swiss-crafted Dom Perignon truffles instead.
You’ll be sure to drop her panties, or his boxers for that matter. Our gift guide was meant for that special gal or dude in your life. Most on the list will transcend to either gender, and are at different price points whether that’s champagne or beer taste budgets. Either way we’re keeping it unfussy yet just enough of fancy.
Kiani and I took to Haati Chai’s sample sale last Friday as I saw their Instagram feed in the AM and decided we had to go seeing that they had pieces starting from $5. We especially had to given the fact that we worked down the street from their showroom, so it was a no brainer. I have been dying to get my hands on the Cecil chain bra. Why it’s taken me so long to even purchase it, I have no idea. But scoring things at sample sales are just so much better, am I right? Supreme gloating rights to getting things on discount is always a fun past time.

The Golden Globes has come and gone with some memorable moments to boot yet again. Last night’s 2016 Golden Globe awards were full of jokes (some funny, and some not so tasteful), laughter, and a little bit of shade. Although Quentin Tarantino came under fire for his use of the word “ghetto,” while accepting the award for best original score on behalf of “The Hateful Eight” composer Ennio Morricone, Taraji P. Henson’s win and Denzel Washington’s honor gave us all something to smile about.
Taraji Henson brilliantly handed out cookies on her way up to accept her award. “Who knew that playing an ex convict would take me all around the globe?” Henson said in her acceptance speech. “Uh, 20 seconds? I waited 20 years for this, y’all gonna wait.” – Taraji P. Henson responding to the timer while accepting her award for “Empire.”
After Ricky Gervais’ tacky introduction of America Ferrera and Eva Longoria, stating that, “these are two people who your future president, Donald Trump, can’t wait to deport,” the two Latina beauts hysterically joked on stage, and this is how their hilarious mini-speech went:
Eva: Yes, hi, I’m Eva Longoria, not Eva Mendes.
America: And hi, I’m America Ferrera, not Gina Rodriguez.[Camera pans to Gina]
Eva (not Mendes): And neither of us are Rosario Dawson.
America: Nope. Well said, Salma.
Eva: Thank you, Charo.

Tweed has come a long way since its first introduction in women’s fashion brought in 1954 by our beloved Coco Chanel. A ‘borrowed from the boys’ material, it has gotten its wide spread cult fame from Chanel’s signature designs into mainstream fashion that it is today. Tweed is synonymous with the luxurious textures that fashion houses usually bring in, in the fall/winter seasons due to its warmth and thickness to insulate. What was once just seen worn among the upper class—usually in sporting events is now one of the best trends to sport in winter street style. Today we take a cue from our favorite style icons and give you some style tips to keep what is usually a more conservative style, to more on a sex kitten level. Yes, we’re talking about how tweed is bringing sexy back in new and effortless ways.
